Where Did Whitney's Broken Heart Go? Whitney Houston

My dear Whitney inspired me to start singing at the age of 7.
As a little girl she was my hero, my role model, my inspiration.

"Where do Broken Hearts Go" was one of her #1 songs and the first song I sang publicly. As a kid, I did not know the meaning of the song, I just loved her voice.

Today I'm older and have lost a sister to a drug overdose, and now a past role model. This leads me to see the song tile " Where Do Broken Hearts Go" in a different light.

My sister was broken, my family was broken, I am broken. Where do we go? Whitney and my sister turned to drugs. We all turn to something with our brokeness in hopes to find relief, refuge, courage, strength. I have found out through it all that only turning to God can bring this to us! JEREMIAH 29:11 say's "I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you a future and a hope."

He desires us to live hopeful lives full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and self control. He has a plan for each one of our lives and can make the broken pieces of our life beautiful, and heal our pain.

I know it's hard to fathom that the invisible God cares about our broken hearts. I know it's easier to soothe our pain with other things that seem more immediate. The only problem is the solutions we turn to outside of God are never everlasting and can lead to death.

Whitney was a woman God gave life to, God gave a gift to, God gave a future to. Along the way she became a broken hearted woman who God still desired to give hope and healing and a future to.

Whitney, I believe, lived her life asking the question "Where do Broken Hearts Go" but she could not find her way home.

God is that home. Nothing else will do. He cares for us and can heal us. Turn to Him.

Now Lord I pray that you would take Whitney in your arms as you have been waiting for her. Would you also take those reading this in your arms and show them your love is waiting there, and you will ALWAYS LOVE THEM.

Goodnight all and thank you God for the gift that was Whitney Houston

Love,

Shuree
